Webster Dictionary online defines lust as an intense longing. Love is defined as
There are so many occasions in my life where lust has been mistaken for love. Lust like love is a strong emotion. Lust, unlike love, does not endure. In Song of Solomon, it warned against lust,
David lusted after Bathsheba and then he had her husband murdered. David’s son Amnon had lust for his sister Tammar, and after he had raped her, his lust turned to hate. Samson married a Philistine woman he lusted, and this led to short marriage and many problems. In the Bible lust never turns out well. Love, on the other hand, endures.
Jacob felt lust for Rachel at first but over the years his feelings changed to love
