Ly Syin Lobster (Syinly) Gives her Testimony on Shift to Live Radio Show

Ly Syin Lobster is an overcomer. Her early influences in life were reading, Christianity, and abuse.  As teenage she became interested in writing as a way to express herself. She started writing for her church newsletter. After graduating from high school, she was interested in pursuing print media, but the college, she attended, Southwestern College, did not offer print media.  To overcome this obstacle She was actively involved in storytelling through being on staff at the college newspaper which lead to  an internship at the local daily paper.
Leadership has been a part of her life since she was a teenager. She was youth day chairperson twice at Central Baptist Church. In college, Ms. Lobster was president of the Multicultural  Student Organization and Vice president of Non -Traditional Student Organization. Despite being in an abusive relationship and becoming a single parent,  in 1997 Ms. Lobster graduated from Southwestern College with a bachelor or arts in Mass communications. Afterwards,  she briefly worked as news anchor and reporter at KPOC. Later, in 1998 she returned to her hometown and became interested in the audiovisual field.  Realizing that technology was quickly changing, her life’s work began with a transition into multimedia technician.
After dealing with more domestic violence and being homeless, In 2006 she completed  Connections to Success Leading lady Leadership Series.  Ms. Lobster completed additional leadership training at Human development Corporations ‘s Stepping Up to Leadership Program.  Four years later, she was selected as the  Dress for Success Professional Women’s Group delegate. She organized the community action project “ Yes We Can Women Overcoming Obstacles. She lead outreach activities such as feeding the homeless women and their families. Collecting personal hygiene items and organizing a conference for homeless women  In 2006 she completed  Connections to Success Leading lady Leadership Series.  Ms. Lobster completed additional leadership training at Human development Corporations ‘s Stepping Up to Leadership Program.

Ms. Lobster has overcome many issues such as domestic violence, alcoholism and homelessness.  Through her personal experience and her professional skills as a freelance – journalist, blogger, communications guru has empowered her to become an advocate for women’s  causes.
